MWC Tournament in Vegas

Brandon and I went to the MWC Basketball Tournament in Las Vegas this past weekend. We left Wednesday night to get there in time for the BYU/Air Force game Thursday at noon. We had really good seats. BYU didn't play their best but they won. So we bought tickets for Friday night's game and then went out to dinner.

Friday afternoon we went to the Las Vegas Premium Outlets and it was so much fun. I LOVE OUTLETS! I had a scary experience though. Brandon and I split up to do some shopping on our own so I was in a dressing room at French Connection and Brandon called me. While he talking my phone beeped telling me it was about to die. I went into total panic mode and almost started hyperventilating. I shouted, "Brandon! Listen! My phone is about to die! I'm at French Connection. It's by Banana Republic. Can you come here and find me?!" My voice started to quiver. Brandon casually said, "Sure. I'll be there soon." And then silence. My phone was dead. I was totally stranded with no way to find Brandon.

I hurried to get outside so I wouldn't miss him. I sat on a bench. My mind starting filling up with horrible thoughts (I think I watch too many crime shows where it seems common for bad things happen to people...). What if my phone had died without me even knowing and then Brandon and I never would've found each other... What if something happened to either one of us and we would never know because we couldn't call each other!?... What if someone is trying to call me right now and it's an emergency!??!!... Ok I know... I can get a little dramatic sometimes. I'm really not sure why I was so scared. Obviously I could have asked a stranger to use their cell phone to call Brandon or I'm sure we would've found each other eventually... but I realized how much I depend on the fact that I can contact anyone anytime anywhere because of cell phones. Without my cell phone, alive and working, I am lost :)

A few minutes passed by and I started getting worried that Brandon couldn't find me. I got up and started walking around. I checked inside French Connection in case Brandon went inside the store. Finally I saw Brandon. I ran up and hugged him and said, "I'm so glad you found me!" and told him all my "what if" worries and fears. He just laughed at me and said, "It's ok. We would've found each other. We're together now. Don't worry-- I'll stay with you. It will be ok." So from then on I made him come with me everywhere. When I was in J. Crew, he said he was going to go wait outside. I said, "Where outside? Like are you going to another store? Or are you going to sit on a bench?" Brandon said, "I'll be in visual distance. You'll be able to see me when you walk out of the store." Haha. And for any of you in suspense, I charged my phone when we got back to the car and I hadn't missed any emergency phone calls. The world was still functioning just fine while my cell phone was dead :)

Friday night we watched BYU play SDSU. It was a really good game but BYU just couldn't keep up with SDSU and sadly lost. SDSU played great and deserved to win that game. We stuck around to watch some of the Utah/Wyoming game and then went back to our hotel. Saturday we went to the strip. It was a beautiful day. I shopped at the Miracle Mile shops while Brandon watched some basketball games on tv. Then we went to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory and saw a Bellagio fountain show.

It was a really nice long weekend. We enjoyed perfect weather, great basketball, and some Vegas fun.
