This past Memorial day weekend we traveled south to sunny Phoenix, Arizona for the wedding of my former roommate Brian Arnell. He married Melissa Clouse. We woke up early Saturday morning and drove to the Salt Lake City airport and boarded the plane for Arizona. Once we landed, we jumped in a rental car and drove straight to the temple.After the ceremony we took some pictures and then proceeded to a luncheon at a Mexican restaurant-- it was delicious. We helped Lee Willis (another former roommate) decorate Brian's car with some tooth paste (the local Walmart was out of car chalk and white shoe shiner), streamers, and balloons. After the luncheon we went back to our hotel and got in some swimming at the pool.
On Sunday we went to church in Tempe and then went over to Brian and Melissa's place to have lunch and watch them open their wedding presents.
After we bid the newlyweds farewell, we drove to north Phoenix to visit one of my best friends from high school, Travis Anderson and his wife Kristen. I have only seen Travis once since I got home from my mission in 2004, so it was great to spend time with them. We ate some great pizza and a spaghetti calzone from one of their favorite local Italian restaurants.
On Monday we got some more sun at our hotel's pool and then went to see the Arizona Diamondbacks play the San Diego Padres. They have a cool stadium that is air conditioned. The Padres came back down 7-1 and won in the 10th inning. We saw John McCain there too! After the game we returned our rental car and got on a plane back to Utah. It was a great weekend with friends!

Sounds like you guys had a great trip! I love weddings. It always brings me back. You have all the connections, referring to the game. Do you guys know how spoiled rotten you are.
You guys all look so sharp. I am glad you posted pictures. I wanted to be there with you guys, but well babies, half a world away just didn't let that happen. Miss you guys, glad you had fun.
