Amanda had a Health Conference in Washington DC for a few days and we wanted to see her so we drove up Monday afternoon and met up with her. We went to the Natural History Museum and then got dinner. Then we went to Brandon's brother Jason's apartment where we were going to sleep. We got things set up, put the kids to bed, and hung out there for a bit before we took Amanda to her hotel.
Then the next morning we picked Amanda up and Brandon dropped us off at the Washington DC temple where Amanda received her endowment and I was able to be her escort. It was such a special experience. Then we had to bring Amanda back to her hotel in time for her to head to the airport and we drove back home. It was so wonderful to see her!!
Our house got down to 52 degrees so we bundled up!

When it got dark and it was time for bed, Brandon used a headlamp and it worked out great! We doubled up pjs and gave the kids extra blankets to stay warm that night.
After we put the kids to bed we played some games against each other on our ipads to pass the time until we went to sleep.
The next morning our house was so cold and Brandon was going out of town and I didn't feel like being home without power so we went to the Wheelers. I took a shower and we hung out there for the day. Then in the late afternoon we left to go home. We still didn't have power so we went to Arby's for dinner and killed some time at Walmart until it was bedtime. The power came back on around 7pm just in time for bed. I was so glad to have it back!
Josh and Winnie play Superheros where one of them hangs on the chair like this and says "Help! Help!" and the other goes and helps them down. Then they switch and do it over and over.
Emma started to climb up on things!
She's 8 1/2 months old. She has 4 teeth on top and 2 on bottom and she started to crawl! She's been sleeping through the nights (about 11 hours) like a champ for the past month or more. She's eating lots of solid foods (her favorites right now are scrambled eggs, sweet potato fries, and plain whole milk yogurt). She still nurses 5 times a day. Crawling has been actually really great because she can entertain herself and go do whatever she wants and not make me hold her or sit right next to her all the time. So now she is content to play on her own for longer amounts of time which is nice. She only belly laughs for Josh but she does give smiles a lot.
