Springtime Update

A few weeks ago, my brother Trevor came to Provo to visit! His trip was mostly to visit BYU to help him decide where he'd go to school this fall. He'd been accepted into BYU, as well as BYU's School of Music, and received a scholarship so things were looking good but he wanted to have the experience of auditioning live and meeting the faculty in person. Of course everyone loved him and were captivated with his beautiful voice so he basically got VIP treatment. He was personally serenaded by Men's Chorus, got a campus tour by the Admissions Director who gave him a bunch of BYU stuff including a BYU sweatshirt, and met quite a few renowned faculty members.

He also spent a little time with us while he was here :) He let me take him shopping and out to eat at one of my favorite restaurants, Wingers. We went to the Malt Shoppe and played some Guitar Hero. It was so fun to see him. And he did decide to go to BYU this fall! We can't wait to have him so close.

It was our nephew Andrew's 3rd birthday and he had a big birthday breakfast party. His cake is one of my favorite treats in the world!! I grew up calling it "Monkey Bread" but there are a lot of names for it. Brandon's family grew up calling it "Cody Waffles" because their little brother, Jason, wanted waffles one morning but his mom made this instead so they told him it was waffles from Cody (they live in Casper, Wyoming but they have family in Cody, Wyoming). Anyway it is always a treat to have!

This picture makes me laugh because me and Amanda are standing exactly the same... we do that a lot.

A lot of family was in town for Andrew's birthday because it was also Andrew's dad, Danny's graduation. He graduated from BYU's MBA program. He's looking for a job and will probably find one that is far away :( We'll miss them a lot when they leave.

Brandon's brother Craig got engaged!! The lucky girl is Becky Nichols and they are getting married in August.

Becky is the sweetest girl and I'm so excited to have her as a sister-in-law! Having her around has been so great- she talks to me about normal girl stuff when the boys start talking too much sports! She is really thoughtful too- she heard me talking once about something I wanted and a few weeks later she got it for me for my birthday!

Congrats you two!
