Despain Family Reunion

This past weekend we drove to Casper, Wyoming for the Despain Family Reunion (Brandon's dad's side of the family). It was a lot of fun. Brandon's brother Jason just got home from his mission about a month ago so it was great to see him. Brandon's older sister Ashley and her husband Erin flew in from Atlanta and we don't get to see them too often so it was also really fun to spend time with them. Brandon's oldest sister Lindsey and her family live in Provo and we usually see them at least once a week but they'd been in Casper for a few weeks before we got there so we hadn't seen them for a few weeks and I was really starting to miss them! It was just great to see everyone.


We got to Casper Thursday night and played some Cranium Pop 5 (If you haven't heard of that game or played it, you should. It's a favorite of ours.). Friday afternoon we played in a golf tournament (I don't play golf so I went and drove the golf cart). Friday night we had a barbecue at a local park. After dinner, we did relay races and played Queen's Court volleyball.

After we got home and cleaned up, we played some Guitar Hero World Tour. It was so much fun. Saturday we went to a brunch and then Ashley, Jason, Brandon, and I went with Bob to the Simpson Award Ceremony that Bob emceed. It's a really prestigious award that is given to an impressive high school athlete in the state of Wyoming. Bob has been on the committee (he was president of it for awhile too) since it started and it was neat to be there. Then we came back to the house to get ready for the barbecue that night. Everyone went to cousin Jada's baptism and then came over. After dinner, it started raining so we crammed everyone inside to do the raffle. We won a $25 gift card to Chili's and some really nice cookie sheets. I think everyone won some good stuff and left happy.

The next morning everyone came to hear Jason speak at church about his mission. He did a really great job. Then we drove Ashley and Erin to the airport and then drove back to Provo. We had a great time and can't wait for the next reunion!
