Fourth of July

Fourth of July is always such a fun holiday because you do all your favorite summertime activities in one day! And if you love summer like I do, it's a packed full of favorites!

Favorite thing #1: Sleep in
We slept in and did not make it to the parade. We woke up just in time to watch the hot dog eating contest... which was kind of disgusting but entertaining at the same time.

Favorite thing #2: Go to the pool

We were hesitant about going to Seven Peaks because we thought it might be a tradition for a lot of people to go there on the Fourth of July or that since it was a holiday that it would be packed. But we decided to give it a try and it actually wasn't that crowded so we spent a few hours at the pool.

Favorite thing #3: Barbecue
We went over to Danny and Lindsey's for a delicious barbecue dinner. All my favorite foods were there: chips and dip, yummy green salad, hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, lemonade, watermelon, veggie tray, and.....

Favorite thing #4: Homemade ice cream!

Favorite thing #5: Nintendo Wii
Who doesn't love Nintendo Wii? We played tennis, bowled, boxed, you name it! This is a picture of our niece Anna boxing her dad, Danny. She won!

Favorite thing #6: Fireworks
Fireworks were some people's favorite more than others. We did some smaller ones that you do at home before the big show. Brandon had so much fun, I seriously thought he was going to blow up his hand or something. On the other hand, the fireworks were a little too loud for Anna and a little too intense for Andrew. Maybe next year they'll be ready for them. The big fireworks show was pretty good too.

Favorite thing #7: Family and friends
Brandon's parents were in town for the holiday and Nick and Lindsey joined us for the day's festivities. It is always more fun to spend holidays with family and friends. Happy 4th!
